Former Bohemians and Shelbourne ace Moylan made the move across the water in 2024, signing for then-League One outfit Lincoln City. He has since gone on to establish himself as a vital part of the Imps’ squad, and despite missing the beginning of last season through injury, Moylan came roaring back and earned a nomination for January’s player of the month after firing four goals to add momentum to Lincoln’s promotion push. Lincoln secured promotion to the Championship as they finished top of the pile in League One ahead of Cardiff City. With Moylan penning a three-year extension to his deal last March, he looked likely to spearhead their second-tier campaign – but reports now suggest a major switch is on the cards. And the fact that Jack Moylan was left out of two Lincoln City friendlies today against Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley has many Imps fans feeling the Dubliner is heading to Wales. Interest in Moylan has reportedly come from Cardiff City – a side he and his teammates will be familiar with the strengths of, having gained Championship promotion together in 2025/26. The Bluebirds finished in second place, 12 points behind Lincoln to ensure their automatic return to the Championship. And while his current side had the upper hand in the third tier, it appears Cardiff are looking to shoulder the burden of Championship demands by adding real quality to their ranks – with Moylan a part of that plan. Football Insider’s Transfer Correspondent Pete O’Rourke reports that the Bluebirds are close to clinching the signing of Moylan. Posted on X, O’Rourke’s update read: "Cardiff City are closing in on the signing of Jack Moylan from Lincoln City, with the midfielder expected to join the Bluebirds on a free transfer." Cardiff are looking to add depth to their midfield with the signing of Moylan, who has been in impressive form for Lincoln this season. The 22-year-old has made 28 appearances for the Imps, scoring three goals and providing two assists. Moylan started his career with Dublin-based Shelbourne, before making the move to Lincoln in 2022. He has also earned three caps for the Republic of Ireland, scoring once against Latvia in a 3-0 win. The transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days, with Moylan set to join the Bluebirds on a free transfer.
